Gaiam Folding Yoga Travel Mat — 2mm Foldable Lightweight Blue Sundial with Grippy Non-Slip Surface

The Gaiam Folding Yoga Travel Mat is a 2mm, scored, non-toxic PVC mat that folds into a compact 10" x 12" square for easy transport while delivering a grippy surface for stable practice.

This slim, foldable mat is designed for yogis who want dependable traction and extreme portability. At 68" long, 24" wide and just 2mm thick, the mat weighs about 2 pounds and folds along built-in scores so it fits in carry-ons, tote bags, or daypacks. The Blue Sundial print updates the look while the sticky texture helps you hold poses on hardwood, tile, or outdoors.

How compact is this mat for travel?

The Gaiam folding mat collapses into a neat 10" x 12" square when folded along its scoring lines, making it a true on-the-go option. It slips into most overhead bins, suitcase compartments, or an overnight bag without the bulk of a rolled mat.

• Folds to 10" x 12" square for compact storage
• Fits in carry-ons, tote bags, and daypacks
• Lightweight at approximately 2 lb for easy carrying

Will the 2mm thickness protect my joints during practice?

At 2mm this mat prioritizes portability while still offering a thin cushioning layer suitable for travel or short sessions. It’s best for practitioners comfortable with lower-profile mats or for use with extra padding for very sensitive knees or wrists.

• 2mm thickness balances light weight with basic cushioning
• Use a folded towel or small bolster for added joint support
• Good for standing poses, flow sequences, and studio drop-ins

How does the mat perform on different surfaces?

The surface features a deliberately sticky texture that enhances grip on wood, tile, concrete, or grass so you can maintain stability in most environments. Because it’s non-slip, it helps reduce shifting during transitions and provides a predictable footing for common yoga sequences.

• Sticky texture delivers secure footing indoors and outdoors
• Non-toxic PVC surface is easy to wipe clean after use
• Stable traction reduces slippage during flows and holds

How durable and easy to care for is this foldable mat?

The mat is made of non-toxic PVC engineered to withstand folding and regular use while keeping its traction. Routine care is simple: spot clean or wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air-dry flat before folding and storing.

• Constructed from non-toxic PVC for everyday wear
• Spot clean with mild soap and water; air dry before folding
• Designed with scored panels to fold without creasing unpredictably

Who is this for: This mat is ideal for travelers, commuting yogis, retreat attendees, and anyone who needs a compact, light yoga surface that still offers a grippy feel. If you prefer a thick cushioned mat for therapeutic support, consider pairing this foldable mat with additional padding or choosing a thicker stationary mat for home practice.
