Should I choose a YETI hard cooler or soft cooler?

Hard rotomoulded coolers such as the Tundra and Roadie suit multi-day trips, boats and campsites, where durability and ice life matter more than weight. Soft Hopper coolers are lighter, fold or carry easily, and suit day trips, picnics and fishing sessions. Many people own one of each and use the soft cooler for drinks.

How do I make ice last longer in a YETI cooler?

Pre-chill the cooler overnight with a sacrificial bag of ice or cold packs, load food and drinks already cold, and use more ice than contents; YETI itself suggests a generous ice-to-contents ratio. Block ice lasts longer than cubes. Keep the cooler in shade and open it as rarely as possible.

Is the YETI Camino carryall waterproof?

The Camino's ThickSkin shell is waterproof and wipes clean, so it shrugs off wet decks, sand and spills. It is an open-top tote though, so it will not keep contents dry if rain falls in or it goes overboard. For kit that must stay dry on the water, use a roll-top dry bag.
