Giro Aries Spherical Road Helmet — Matte White Large, Lightweight Ventilated with Mips

The Giro Aries Spherical is a featherweight, highly ventilated road helmet that combines Giro's ball‑and‑socket Spherical Technology with an integrated Mips layer for enhanced rotational-impact management.

The Aries blends low mass, extensive airflow and a precise fit system into a refined shell designed for fast training rides and long days in the saddle. At roughly 270 grams in a medium size, it emphasizes comfort through deep internal channels, a moisture-managing brow pad and a reinforced architecture that lets large vents stay open without sacrificing structural strength.

How does the Aries improve comfort on longer rides?

Comfort comes from a mix of lightweight construction, targeted sweat control and deep ventilation channels that move cool air over the scalp. The DryCore brow pad and internal silicone bead guide perspiration away from the face while soft, breathable liners cushion contact points.

• Light shell and dual-density foam reduce pressure without losing protection
• DryCore brow pad diverts sweat away from eyes and skin
• Deep internal channels keep airflow consistent around the head
• Roc Loc® 5+ Air fit system lets you fine-tune tension and vertical fit

What protection technologies are built into this helmet?

The Aries uses a ball‑and‑socket Spherical design together with an integrated Mips slip layer to help manage rotational forces in angled impacts. Progressive layering with two foam densities gives a staged energy-absorption response across different impact severities.

• Spherical ball-and-socket allows controlled relative movement between liners
• Integrated Mips slip plane reduces rotational energy transfer to the head
• Dual-density Nanobead EPS foam offers graduated energy management
• Extended lower hardbody coverage increases rim durability

How does ventilation and structural reinforcement work together?

Large vents are supported by a translucent reinforcement arch that keeps the shell rigid so airflow can be maximized without weakening the helmet. The Wind Tunnel system pairs intake vents with internal exhaust channels to pull heat away efficiently.

• Aura II reinforcing arch strengthens the shell while allowing big vent openings
• 24 optimized vents and internal channels accelerate air movement
• Vent routing pushes warm air out and draws fresh air in across the scalp
• Vent layout minimizes dead zones for even cooling on long efforts

What fit and durability features should I expect?

Fit adjustment is handled by Giro’s proven Roc Loc 5+ Air system, giving secure, micro-adjustable support with improved breathability at the rear. Durable hardbody areas protect edges and attachment points so the helmet holds up to everyday use.

• Roc Loc 5+ Air for precise tension and vertical position tuning
• Full lower hardbody coverage shields high-wear areas
• Removable, washable pads for easy maintenance
• Quality construction and consistent production tolerances for longevity

Who is this for: The Giro Aries Spherical in matte white (Large) suits cyclists who want a performance road helmet that prioritizes minimal weight, strong airflow and advanced rotational-impact management. It’s a good match for ambitious commuters, club riders and endurance cyclists who value a ventilated, adjustable fit without adding bulk.
