Klymit Static V Inflatable Sleeping Pad - Navy Blue, 2.5" Thick Ultralight 75D Polyester for Backpacking

The Klymit Static V is a slim, ultralight inflatable sleeping pad with V-shaped chambers that stabilize your sleep surface while minimizing weight and pack size.

Built for multi-day backpacking, minimalist car camping, and overnight hikes, this pad balances cushioning and compactness. Its V-chamber design restricts air migration so the mattress stays supportive through the night, while a simple valve lets you inflate and deflate quickly. The Static V is made from rugged 75D polyester and compresses to a small bundle, making it an easy addition to any pack where grams and space matter.

How comfortable is the Static V for side and back sleepers?

The V-shaped internal chambers concentrate loft where you need it most, offering predictable support for different sleeping positions without a lot of bulk. The 2.5-inch thickness provides a balance of ground isolation and weight savings, suitable for many campers who prefer a low-profile pad.

• 2.5 inches of inflated thickness for basic pressure relief
• V-chamber layout reduces air migration for consistent support
• 72 x 23 inches of sleeping surface fits most adults

How fast and easy is inflation and packing?

The single easy-to-use valve allows you to inflate the pad with about 10–15 breaths, then close the valve for a secure seal. Deflation is quick too—open the valve and roll the pad to force air out, then stash it in the compact stuff sack.

• Inflates in roughly 10–15 breaths, no pump required
• Simple valve for quick set-up and teardown
• Packed dimensions of about 3 x 8 inches for efficient storage

How durable and light is the construction for backcountry use?

The Static V uses tough 75D polyester fabric that resists abrasion and punctures better than ultrathin fabrics, while keeping the packed weight low. At a packed weight of 18.6 ounces, it’s one of the lighter options that still offers durable materials for repeated outdoor use.

• 75D polyester face material for abrasion resistance
• Packed weight approximately 18.6 ounces for ultralight packs
• Reinforced seams and a reliable valve for longer service life

What are the pad’s exact size and travel specs?

The Static V inflates to 72 x 23 x 2.5 inches, providing a full-length sleeping surface for many adults while keeping width and thickness modest for reduced bulk. When packed, it compresses to roughly 3 x 8 inches, making it simple to attach to a pack or fit inside a larger sleeping bag compartment.

• Inflated size: 72 x 23 x 2.5 inches
• Packed size: about 3 x 8 inches for compact carry
• Color: navy blue, easy to spot in camp

Who this pad is for: The Klymit Static V suits hikers and backpackers who prioritize low weight and small packed size but still want a supportive, reliable sleeping surface. It’s ideal for fast-and-light weekend trips, thru-hiking stages where every ounce counts, and campers who need a durable, easy-to-use pad without bulky insulation. If you want something thicker or highly insulated for extreme cold, consider an insulated or thicker model; otherwise the Static V is a practical, competitively priced choice for three-season use.
