Kryptonite Kryptolok Standard U-Lock — 12.7mm Hardened Steel Shackle, Double-Deadbolt

Kryptonite’s Kryptolok Standard is a heavy-duty U-lock with a 12.7mm hardened steel shackle and double-deadbolt design for strong resistance against cutting and twisting attacks.

Built for everyday cyclists who need reliable protection without excessive weight, the Kryptolok Standard balances security and portability. Its hardened shackle, disc-style cylinder and vinyl coating combine to protect your bike from common theft methods while minimizing damage to paint and components. The lock ships with two ergonomic stainless-steel keys and a FlexFrame-U bracket for on-bike transport.

How does the Kryptolok Standard protect my bike from common theft attempts?

The lock uses a 12.7mm hardened performance steel shackle that resists bolt cutters and manual cutting attempts, while a double-deadbolt anti-rotation mechanism helps prevent twisting and leverage attacks. The disc-style cylinder is engineered to be pick- and drill-resistant, and a sliding dust cover keeps contaminants out of the keyway.

Is the Kryptolok Standard easy to carry while I ride?

Who is this for: The Kryptonite Kryptolok Standard is aimed at commuters, city cyclists and recreational riders who want a durable, mid-level security solution without the bulk of ultra-heavy locks. It’s a strong choice for quick stops in urban areas, daytime parking in suburbs, and longer periods in low-risk rural locations. If you need very high security for long-term unattended parking in high-risk zones, consider pairing this lock with an additional cable or upgrading to a heavier-rated model.
