LIFETIME 26.5 L High Performance Cooler — Bear-Resistant, 5-Day Ice Retention, Stainless Handle

The LIFETIME 28 Quart High Performance Cooler is a compact, bear-resistant cooler built to keep food and drinks cold for up to five days while withstanding heavy use in outdoor conditions.

Engineered for weekend campers, anglers, tailgaters and backyard hosts, this 28-quart cooler balances long ice retention with a carry-friendly size. Thick urethane-insulated walls and a secure gasket create a cold interior longer than standard coolers, while durable high-density polyethylene construction stands up to rough handling. It also includes practical features—stainless steel handle, fast-access latches, lock location and bungee hook—that make it easy to transport, secure and strap down during travel.

How long will ice stay frozen inside the LIFETIME 28 Quart Cooler?

Under typical outdoor conditions, the cooler’s thick insulation and gasket maintain temperatures and can retain ice for up to five days. Actual performance depends on ambient temperature, how often you open the lid and how much ice versus contents you pack.

• Up to 5 days of ice retention when packed and used per guidelines
• Urethane insulation and tight gasket reduce cold air loss
• Recommended: pre-chill contents and minimize lid openings

Is the cooler durable enough for backcountry or bear country use?

Yes—the LIFETIME cooler is constructed from high-density polyethylene and tested for rugged outdoor use. It carries IGBC certification for bear resistance when locked, meaning the shell and latches resist a bear’s attempts for a specified period.

• IGBC bear-resistant certified when properly locked
• High-density polyethylene shell resists impacts and UV exposure
• Stainless steel handle and reinforced latches for repeated use

What practical features help with transport and security?

This model includes multiple convenience and security touches to make outings easier: a sturdy stainless steel carry handle, fast-access latches, a built-in location for a padlock and a bungee cord hook for tying down. Non-skid slide feet help keep the cooler in place on boats, trucks or tailgate surfaces.

• Stainless steel handle for comfortable carrying and durability
• Latch design allows quick opening while keeping contents secure
• Padlock location and bungee cord hook for added security and tie-downs
• Multi-functional grip and slide feet stabilize the cooler on uneven surfaces

What materials are used and how do they impact performance?

The cooler combines urethane insulation with polypropylene and polyethylene components to balance insulating performance and ruggedness. These materials contribute to long ice retention, light-enough everyday handling and resistance to wear from outdoor use.

• Urethane insulation for thermal performance
• Polypropylene and polyester rope used in hardware and handle components
• High-density polyethylene shell resists dents and environmental damage

Who is this for? The LIFETIME 28 Quart High Performance Cooler is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts who need a compact cooler that still offers extended ice retention and tough construction—campers, anglers, hunters in bear country (when used with a lock), tailgaters and homeowners who want a reliable, portable cold-storage solution. If you need larger capacity or wheeled mobility, consider larger models, but if you want a balance of long-lasting cold, security and durable materials in a manageable size, this cooler fits the bill.
