Maxxis Hookworm Tyre — 26x2.50 Wire Bead, 2-Pack Single-Compound BMX/Urban Durable Traction

If you need a rugged tire that tolerates curbs, concrete, skateparks and rough trail approaches, the Hookworm's large wraparound tread and tough construction are designed to handle repeated impacts and abrasion. This listing is for a 2-pack of Maxxis Hookworm tires in size 26x2.50 with a wire bead and single-compound rubber, backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.

What makes the Hookworm tread suited to street and park riding?

The Hookworm uses a distinctive, continuous wraparound tread that offers a broad contact patch and predictable bite on hard surfaces. Its full-coverage lugs resist chunking and provide stable braking and cornering feel on concrete and packed dirt.

• Large, continuous tread elements for even wear and traction.
• Single compound for consistent grip across the tread.
• Aggressive center and shoulder pattern for braking stability and corner hold.

How durable is the wire bead and single-compound construction?

The wire bead provides a secure, reliable fit on most rims while keeping the tire economical; the single-compound rubber balances toughness and grip for long service life. This construction minimizes weak points, helping the tire resist abrasion from curbs and rough surfaces.

• Wire bead for straightforward mounting and rim compatibility.
• One-piece compound reduces layered failure points.
• Reinforced casing and sidewall resistance to scuffs and tears.

Is this tire easy to install and maintain for regular riders?

Mounting a wire-bead Hookworm is familiar to most cyclists and bike shops; its sturdy sidewalls make seating the tire predictable. Routine checks for cuts, proper inflation, and occasional rotation between front and rear will extend usable life.

• Fits standard 26-inch rims with compatible width clearance.
• Simple mounting with standard tire levers and a pump.
• Low-maintenance single compound requires no special care.

What riding conditions are these Hookworm tires best for?

They shine on urban routes, skatepark surfaces, and compacted trail approaches where impact resistance and stable traction matter more than ultra-lightweight performance. These tires are engineered for abrasion resistance and dependable handling under repeated street use.

• City commuting and block-to-block cruising.
• Skateparks, plaza riding, and BMX-style use.
• Packed dirt trail approaches and multi-use paths.

Who this is for: Riders who prioritize toughness and predictable grip over minimal weight—BMX riders, commuter cyclists, and anyone who regularly encounters curbs, rough pavement, or skatepark features. The Maxxis Hookworm 26x2.50 wire-bead in this two-tire pack gives you rugged replacement tires with straightforward installation and a one-year manufacturer's warranty for added confidence.
