OneUp Components Composite Flat Pedals — Orange, Lightweight Nylon-Composite Platform with Chromoly Axle and Removable Pins

OneUp Components Composite Pedals in orange are lightweight, durable flat mountain bike pedals built from a nylon composite body and black chromoly steel axle for reliable off-road performance.

These flat pedals combine a torsion-resistant composite platform with a stout chromoly spindle and removable traction pins to deliver a balance of low weight, impact resistance, and grip. At a claimed 12.5 oz (355 g) per pair and measuring 4.53 x 4.13 inches, they suit aggressive trail riding while keeping rotational mass minimal. The bright orange finish improves visibility on the bike and the wide platform supports varied shoe types without relying on cleats.

How do these pedals hold up on rough singletrack?

The composite body absorbs hits better than brittle plastics and resists cracking from repeated impacts, while the chromoly axle provides a strong connection to the crank. Removable pins let you tune traction for muddy or rocky terrain so your shoe stays planted.

• Nylon composite platform reduces impact damage and flexes predictably.
• Black chromoly steel spindle resists bending under load.
• Removable pins let you configure grip and replace worn pins.
• Wide 4.53 x 4.13 in platform supports diverse riding positions.

How do they perform for pedal feel and control?

The flat, broad platform gives even pressure across your shoe sole for stable foot placement and precise control while cornering or bunny hopping. The platform shape and pin pattern improve bite without forcing a specific foot angle.

• Large surface area increases contact for better leverage and control.
• Strategic pin placement prevents shoe slip in wet or loose conditions.
• Low profile keeps your center of gravity close to the crank.
• 9/16in spindle fits standard cranks for easy installation.

Are these pedals easy to install and service?

Yes — the 9/16-inch spindle fits most modern MTBs and the simple construction allows for straightforward bearing/service work. Removable pins and replaceable components make maintenance economical over the life of the pedals.

• Standard 9/16in spindle compatible with most mountain bike cranks.
• Accessible bearing/seal layout for routine servicing.
• Replaceable pins extend functional lifespan and adapt grip levels.
• Light claimed weight of 12.5 oz (355 g) minimizes rotational inertia.

What makes the orange finish useful beyond aesthetics?

The vivid orange colour increases visual contrast on the bike, helping with foot placement and making the bike easier to spot in low-light or trail-side repairs. The coating also resists abrasion to keep the pedals looking fresh through seasons of riding.

• Bright color aids visibility for setup and maintenance.
• Durable finish resists scuffs and trail abrasion.
• Distinctive look helps personalize your build without aftermarket paint.

Who is this for: Riders who want a dependable, lightweight flat pedal that balances durable materials and adjustable traction for trail, enduro, and aggressive commuter use. These pedals fit riders who favor a broad platform and straightforward serviceability rather than clipless systems, and they work well for mixed-terrain cyclists seeking a visible, high-value component upgrade.
