The Park Tool CCP-22 is a heavy-duty crank puller built with an extra-fine thread and long handle to remove tight 22mm-threaded and compatible Power Spline cranks smoothly and reliably.
Whether you're a home mechanic or a professional working on a fleet, the CCP-22 is engineered to make crank removal faster and less stressful. It combines an extended, comfortable handle for leverage with a fine-threaded body that threads into crank arms cleanly. A robust rotating tip reduces wear and keeps pressure centered to protect both the crank and the tool during removal. This model covers most square-taper and 22mm-threaded cranks, plus specific compatibility with SRAM Power Spline and certain e-bike BNI crank systems.
The CCP-22 is designed for cranks that use a 22mm x 1 threaded interface and square, tapered bottom bracket spindles. It also accepts an 8mm thread bolt for SRAM Power Spline cranks and fits many Bosch BNI e-bike cranks. For ISIS Drive or Octalink systems, Park Tool recommends alternate models.
The tool uses an extra-fine thread that engages smoothly and resists cross-threading, allowing precise, controlled force when extracting cranks. A long, ergonomic handle provides leverage so you can dislodge fitted or corroded cranks without overstressing your hands.
Park Tool built the CCP-22 with a strong rotating tip system to withstand repeated use and minimize tip wear against crank spindles. Regular cleaning and light lubrication of the threaded section keep the mechanism turning smoothly and extend working life.
Begin by removing any crank arm dust cap and threading the CCP-22 into the crank by hand until it seats flush. Turn the handle steadily—avoid sudden, high-impact force—and let the fine thread and rotating tip do the work. Inspect the crank and spindle after removal for damage or corrosion before reassembly or replacement.
Who is this for: The Park Tool CCP-22 is ideal for bike mechanics, serious home enthusiasts, and service shops that work on a wide range of threaded crank systems—especially square-taper and 22mm-threaded cranks, SRAM Power Spline cranks, and many Bosch BNI e-bike cranks. If you regularly need a reliable, long-lever crank puller built for repeated use and minimal crank wear, the CCP-22 is a practical, professional-grade choice.
Q: Will the CCP-22 remove square-taper cranks?
A: Yes — it fits cranks using 22mm x 1 threads and square, tapered bottom bracket spindles.
Q: Can I use the CCP-22 on ISIS Drive or Octalink cranks?
A: No — for ISIS Drive or Octalink systems use the Park Tool CCP-44 or CWP-7 instead.
