PERFORMANCE PIN Drop Set Selector Pin 5/16" x 4" Green — spring-activated for rapid hands-free drop sets

The Performance Pin Drop Set Pin is a spring-activated selector pin that lets you perform rapid, hands-free drop sets on compatible weight-stack machines.

Designed for lifters who want to squeeze more volume and intensity from selectorized equipment, this patented accessory lets you pre-select descending weights and automatically disengage the pin as you lower the stack. There’s no need to remove and reinsert standard pins mid-set — the Drop Set Pin speeds transitions, reduces downtime, and preserves training tempo so you can finish extra reps when muscles are near failure. Before ordering, verify your machine accepts a 4" long, 5/16" diameter selector pin and that the weight stack is not enclosed behind guards.

How does the Drop Set Pin let me continue past failure?

The Drop Set Pin uses a loaded-spring activator that holds a higher weight until you lower the stack to its resting position; at that point the pin's mechanism disengages and the pre-selected lighter weight remains. This lets you move straight into a lower resistance without touching the weights, maintaining tension and momentum for additional reps. It's especially useful for descending multiset techniques where speed matters.

• Load multiple weight settings before your set by rotating and locking the activator.
• Pin automatically releases when weight reaches the stack's resting position.
• Maintain exercise form and tempo with no manual pin swaps.

Which machines and pin sizes are compatible with this product?

This model fits weight stacks that accept a standard 4" long × 5/16" diameter selector pin and that are not enclosed by full guards. It will not work with triceps/dip-assisted assisted machines or equipment that hides the stack behind panels. If your stack requires a 3/8" diameter pin, Performance Pin offers alternate sizes upon request.

• Compatible: open weight-stack selectorized machines accepting 4" × 5/16" pins.
• Not compatible: enclosed/guarded stacks or weight-assisted pull-up/dip machines.
• Alternate sizes: 4" × 3/8" available by special order.

Is the Drop Set Pin durable and easy to use?

Yes — the Drop Set Pin is built from high-density polyethylene and stainless steel components to resist wear and rust in gym environments. Operation is straightforward: preset your weights, wind the spring activator, slide and lock it, then insert the pin into the stack. No permanent installation or tools are required; the design was made for fast setup and long service life.

• Materials: HDPE body with stainless steel spring components.
• Operation: rotate activator, lock into notch, insert into stack.
• Maintenance: wipe clean and inspect for wear; rust-resistant parts increase longevity.

What safety checks should I do before using Drop Set Pins?

Always confirm the pin dimensions match your equipment and that the weight-stack holes accept a 4" long, 5/16" diameter selector pin. Never use on machines with enclosed stacks or on assisted bodyweight apparatus. Follow the included demonstration video and manufacturer instructions to load and unload the activator correctly.

• Measure your existing selector pin length and diameter before purchasing.
• Do not use on enclosed-guard weight stacks or assisted machines.
• Review the demonstration video and test with low weights first.

Who this product is for: The Performance Pin Drop Set Pin is ideal for intermediate and advanced lifters, personal trainers, and gym owners who want faster drop-set transitions on selectorized equipment. It's great for lifters focused on hypertrophy-style sets, supersets, and tempo-driven workouts who can verify their machine accepts a 4" × 5/16" selector pin. If you need a different diameter or have fully enclosed stacks, consider checking alternate sizes or other accessories.
