Rawlings COOLFLO Batting Helmet — Scarlet One Size (6½–7½), Ventilated NOCSAE-Certified Youth Helmet

The Rawlings COOLFLO batting helmet in Scarlet is a ventilated, lightweight, NOCSAE-certified youth helmet designed to fit hat sizes 6½–7½ for ages roughly 8–14.

Built to balance protection, airflow, and comfort, the COOLFLO family from Rawlings offers two distinct shell profiles—classic COOLFLO and the pro-styled COOLFLO Max—so young players can pick the look that suits them. Both shells use molded gloss finishes and internal liners that manage moisture while remaining light on the head. The pre-drilled shell accepts compatible Rawlings face and jaw guards for players who want extra coverage as they progress.

How does this helmet keep young players cool during long games?

The COOLFLO design prioritizes ventilation with a pattern of airflow openings across the shell, paired with a moisture-wicking liner that helps move sweat away from the forehead. Together they reduce heat build-up and make wearing the helmet more comfortable inning after inning.

• Multiple ventilation ports across the crown and sides for steady airflow
• Interior moisture-wicking liner to help evaporate sweat
• Gloss finish that sheds dirt and dries quickly after cleaning

What size and fit should I expect for youth players?

This helmet uses a one-size-fits-most medium/large sizing intended to accommodate hat sizes from 6½ to 7½. The internal shape and lightweight shell reduce bulk while offering a secure fit for most preteens and young teens; fit can be refined by adjusting any compatible pads or adding a jawguard accessory when needed.

• One-size-fits-most for hat sizes 6½–7½ (youth medium/large)
• Low weight construction minimizes neck strain during long wear
• Pre-drilled mounting points for adjustable face/jaw guards

Is this helmet safe and compatible with additional protection?

The Rawlings COOLFLO helmet is NOCSAE-certified, meeting standardized safety requirements for youth batting helmets. Its pre-drilled shell pattern accepts select Rawlings face guards and jaw guards, allowing easy upgrades for catchers, sluggers, or players who prefer added facial protection.

• NOCSAE-certified shell for standardized impact protection
• Pre-drilled configuration works with select Rawlings guards and accessories
• Durable molded shell that resists cracking and maintains shape

Which COOLFLO profile should my child choose: original or Max?

The original COOLFLO offers a classic youth helmet silhouette with broad ventilation; the COOLFLO Max presents a slimmer, pro-inspired profile while retaining the same ventilation and certification. Choose based on the look your player prefers—both deliver the same functional benefits for comfort and protection.

• Original COOLFLO: traditional shape, wider appearance
• COOLFLO Max: sleeker, pro-style profile for a modern look
• Both models share ventilation, liner technology, and NOCSAE certification

Who is this for: The Rawlings COOLFLO Scarlet helmet suits youth and recreational baseball players roughly ages 8–14 who need reliable NOCSAE-certified protection in a single medium/large size. It’s a solid pick for coaches stocking team gear, parents upgrading from entry-level helmets, and young hitters who want airflow and comfort without extra weight. For added coverage, consider pairing the shell with Rawlings-compatible face or jaw guards as your player’s needs evolve.
