Rawlings Select Pro Lite 32" Youth Catcher's Mitt — Blonde/Black, Lightweight Pro-Formed Pocket & Zero Shock Palm

The Rawlings Select Pro Lite Series 32" catcher's mitt (2023) is a youth-oriented, pro-shaped glove built for fast play behind the plate with a lightweight, game-ready feel.

Engineered for young catchers who need coverage, quick transfers, and reduced hand sting, this Rawlings mitt blends a molded pocket with focused padding. The design speeds break-in, preserves pocket shape, and supports the quick exchanges required for throwing out runners. Finishes in a blonde and black colorway give a classic look while performance details help players progress confidently.

How does this mitt improve catching and throw mechanics?

The Select Pro Lite uses a pro-formed pocket that centers the ball and keeps it secure for smoother transfers. Because the pocket holds its shape, catchers can develop consistent release points and faster tosses to bases.

• Pro-formed pocket for consistent ball placement
• 32" size for optimal plate coverage
• Design favors quick ball-to-hand transfer for faster throws

What comfort and protection features reduce sting from fast pitches?

Rawlings included targeted padding across the palm and cushioned finger backs to absorb impact. The Zero Shock Palm Pad further softens hard catches so young players can stay behind the plate longer without distraction.

• Zero Shock Palm Pad lowers impact feedback
• Generous palm padding plus cushioned finger backs
• Comfort-focused lining for extended innings

Will this mitt be ready for game use straight away?

This model ships with a player-friendly break-in already underway—about 20%—so it reaches game readiness much faster than stiff, full-leather gloves. The lightweight construction also makes it easier to close and train with immediately.

• Approximately 20% factory break-in for faster play-readiness
• Youth pro taper fit to suit smaller hands without sacrificing control
• Materials chosen to balance durability and ease of closure

How does the 32" size help a developing catcher on the field?

At 32 inches, this mitt provides an expanded target area for pitchers and extra coverage for blocking errant pitches. The larger footprint helps build confidence when framing pitches and protecting the plate during plays in the dirt.

• Expanded surface area for more target reliability
• Better coverage on low or wide pitches
• Designed to support framing and blocking techniques

Who is this for: The Rawlings Select Pro Lite 32" mitt fits youth catchers who want a near-professional shape without a long break-in period. It's ideal for players transitioning to higher-level competition, coaches seeking reliable gear for developing athletes, and families wanting a durable, performance-focused mitt in a timeless blonde and black finish.
