Rawlings Shut Out Series 12" First Base Mitt — White/Teal, Youth 12" Full-Grain Leather with Zero Shock™ Palm

The Rawlings Shut Out Series 12" first base mitt is a youth-focused softball glove built from full-grain leather with Zero Shock™ palm padding and an adjustable wrist system for a secure, comfortable fit.

Designed for developing players who need a balance of protection, control, and immediate playability, this Rawlings Shut Out first base mitt brings season-ready performance in a fresh White and Teal colorway. Constructed from soft-yet-durable full-grain leather, the glove arrives roughly 80% broken in at the factory so young athletes can step onto the field sooner. The model targets ages 8–14 but suits many smaller-handed high school players who prefer a narrower fit and responsive pocket.

How does this mitt reduce sting and help with hard catches?

Zero Shock™ palm padding is built into the palm to disperse impact and minimize uncomfortable sting from fast throws or hard hits. The padding lowers direct pressure on the hand without changing the glove’s overall feel or flexibility.

• Zero Shock™ palm pad reduces impact on catches
• Full-grain leather shell maintains a stable pocket under load
• 80% factory break-in keeps feel soft while preserving protection

Will this glove fit a growing youth player and stay secure during play?

The Shut Out mitt includes a dual-adjust system — a pull strap plus a Velcro wrist closure — so the fit can be tightened or loosened quickly. That combination makes it easy to dial in a snug fit as hands grow or as players prefer more or less wrist mobility during play.

• Pull-strap enables fine-tuned hand positioning
• Velcro wrist closure for quick adjustments and secure lock
• Contoured shape tailored to female youth hand dimensions

How durable is the leather, and how long will the mitt keep its shape?

Made from full-grain leather, the Shut Out mitt balances softness for a quick break-in with the durability needed to hold a consistent pocket. Proper care — light oiling and storing away from extreme heat or moisture — helps the leather retain structure through multiple seasons.

• Full-grain leather resists wear while remaining pliable
• Factory-formed pocket preserves play-ready shape
• Recommended maintenance: occasional leather conditioner and dry storage

What makes the White and Teal colorway a good choice for players?

The White and Teal finish offers a modern, visible look that stands out on the field without sacrificing Rawlings’ performance standards. Color choices can boost player confidence and help teammates or coaches quickly identify equipment during practices and games.

• High-contrast White and Teal visibility on the diamond
• Stylish option for players who want a fresh aesthetic
• Color applied without affecting leather performance
