Retrospec Solana 1" Extra-Thick Yoga & Exercise Mat — 72 x 24, Non-Slip High-Density Foam with Strap

The Retrospec Solana is a 1-inch extra-thick, non-slip NBR foam yoga and exercise mat designed to protect joints and stay put during floor workouts.

Built for comfort and stability, the Solana mat provides a spacious 72" x 24" surface with high-density foam that cushions pressure points while you move through yoga flows, Pilates sequences, stretches, or bodyweight training. It’s made from phthalate-, BPA-, heavy metal- and latex-free materials and ships with a nylon strap so you can roll, carry, and store it easily. The textured, ribbed finish helps maintain traction across poses and transitions, and simple wipe-clean care keeps it fresh between sessions.

How does the thick foam improve my workouts?

The Solana’s 1-inch thickness reduces impact on knees, hips, elbows, and the spine by distributing body weight across a denser cushion. That extra padding makes longer holds and floor-based strength work more comfortable without sacrificing stability for standing balance poses.

• 1" high-density NBR foam for pressure relief
• 72" x 24" surface area for full-body space
• Firm enough for balance, soft enough for joint protection

Will this mat stay put during sweatier or faster practices?

Solana features a ribbed, slip-resistant texture that improves grip between your hands, feet, and the mat surface so you can transition with confidence. The material resists sliding on most indoor floors and helps maintain steady footing for dynamic sequences.

• Textured ribbed surface increases traction
• Non-slip foam reduces shifting on hardwood, tile, or studio floors
• Designed to support holds and flowing movement

How easy is it to clean, store, and transport?

To refresh the Solana mat, wipe it with a gentle soap-and-water solution and hang to dry—avoid soaking or machine washing. When finished, roll the mat and secure it with the included nylon carrying strap for compact storage and simple transport to classes or outdoor sessions.

• Wipe-clean with mild soap and water; air dry only
• Includes nylon strap for rolling and carrying
• Lightweight enough for studio, home, or outdoor use

Is the material safe and durable for frequent use?

Retrospec manufactured Solana from closed-cell NBR foam that is free of BPA, phthalates, heavy metals, and latex, reducing exposure to common additives. The dense construction is made to withstand repeated use while retaining shape and cushioning over time; a brief airing may be needed to dissipate any initial odor.

• Phthalate-, BPA-, heavy metal-, and latex-free composition
• Closed-cell NBR resists moisture and absorbs less sweat
• Durable density intended for everyday practice

Who is this for: The Solana mat is aimed at practitioners who want extra cushioning without losing balance—people recovering from joint discomfort, anyone who spends a lot of time on the floor for Pilates or stretching, and fitness users who prefer thicker padding for bodyweight workouts. It’s also a good pick for studio-goers or outdoor exercisers who value a portable, easy-care mat that supports longer sessions and regular use.
