Scuba Choice Vinyl-Coated Diving Weight 2.04 kg Blue — Compact, Corrosion-Resistant Ballast for 2-Inch Webbing

Scuba Choice 4.5 lb vinyl-coated diving weight provides a compact, corrosion-resistant ballast that fits 2-inch webbing for secure, precise buoyancy control.

Lightweight to carry but dense underwater, this 4.5-pound Scuba Choice diving weight is built for divers who want dependable, low-profile ballast that resists deformation and corrosion. Its vinyl coating and antimony-hardened core make it suitable for repeated use in both salt and fresh water, while the design is optimized to slide easily onto standard 2-inch weight belts and sit snugly during movement. The vivid blue finish aids quick identification among gear and can simplify kit organization and retrieval.

How does this weight help me control buoyancy during a dive?

The Scuba Choice 4.5 lb weight adds predictable, steady ballast so you can fine-tune your trim and depth control. Because it holds shape and resists shifting, it contributes to consistent positioning whether you are descending, hovering, or ascending.

• Compact 4.5 lb mass for incremental weight tuning
• Streamlined form reduces drag and improves hydrodynamics
• Stable distribution helps maintain horizontal trim
• Works well in combination with other weights for balanced loading

Will this fit my existing weight belt and stay secure?

Yes — the weight is specifically cut to slide through 2-inch webbing used on standard weight belts. Once threaded and correctly positioned, its shape and vinyl finish minimize sliding and rotation, keeping the ballast where you set it throughout the dive.

• Designed for 2-inch (50 mm) webbing compatibility
• Smooth edges and consistent thickness ease threading
• Coating reduces abrasion against belt material
• Resists shifting thanks to snug, low-profile silhouette

How durable is the construction for repeated saltwater exposure?

The internal lead core is treated with antimony to harden the alloy and resist deforming, while the external vinyl layer creates a barrier against corrosion and wear. Together these features extend service life and protect both the weight and your belt from premature damage.

• Antimony-hardened core resists flattening and denting
• Vinyl coating minimizes direct contact with salt and moisture
• Reduces metal-on-metal wear and abrasion
• Easy to rinse and maintain after dives

Is this weight versatile for different underwater activities?

This 4.5 lb weight is suitable for freediving, spearfishing, and scuba; its compact size makes it simple to combine with other weights or reposition depending on the discipline and suit thickness. The bright blue color makes it easier to spot when assembling gear or searching through a bag on the dock.

• Useful for freedivers who need quick trim adjustments
• Spearfishers benefit from the streamlined profile and low drag
• Scuba divers can stack multiples for customized ballast systems
• Vibrant color aids fast visual identification of individual weights

Who is this for: The Scuba Choice 4.5 lb vinyl coated diving weight is aimed at recreational and serious water-sports enthusiasts who want a durable, compact ballast that fits standard 2-inch webbing. It suits freedivers, spearfishers, and scuba divers seeking corrosion-resistant gear that holds shape under pressure and simplifies weight tuning. If you need a reliable, easy-to-thread weight that reduces belt wear and improves underwater stability, this model is an efficient, low-profile option to include in your kit.
