The TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver 13.5° (right-hand, regular flex) is a compact, adjustable mini driver designed to blend higher launch, tunable spin and shot-shape control for tee and fairway play.
Drawing inspiration from one of TaylorMade’s most celebrated designs, the R7 Quad Mini Driver updates classic elements with modern materials and adjustable technology. The head’s compact footprint and quartet of movable weights let you dial launch and curvature, while the Infinity Carbon Crown and Speed Pocket help optimize mass distribution and ball speed. It’s built to be versatile off the tee or from the turf when a fuller driver is too much club.
The four-weight setup (two 13g and two 4g weights) gives you precise control over center of gravity and spin. Sliding heavier weights forward produces a lower-spinning, more penetrating trajectory, while moving mass rearward raises launch and forgiveness. You can also create left- or right-bias shot shapes by offsetting weights side-to-side.
TaylorMade combines a satin Infinity Carbon Crown with a tuned face and Speed Pocket to save weight and preserve ball speed across the face. Twist Face technology helps correct mis-hits by modifying face curvature, and the Speed Pocket aids ball speed and low-face launch. The included Speeder MD shaft is engineered to reduce spin and maintain stability without adding mass.
A 13.5° mini driver is ideal when you want more control and a shallower swing than a full driver, yet more forgiveness and distance potential than a long iron. It excels on tighter tee boxes, windy conditions, and long par-3s or par-4s where accuracy and a mid-high launch are preferred. It also performs well off the turf when a traditional driver is impractical.
Adjustments are straightforward: remove and reposition any of the four weights to alter CG and shot shape. The head’s settings let golfers experiment with forward or rearward bias and left/right bias without complex tools. For best results, make one change at a time and hit a few shots to feel the difference.
Who is this for? The TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver 13.5° (right-hand, regular flex) suits golfers seeking a compact alternative to a full driver—players who want a controllable trajectory, adjustable spin and shot-shape options, and a forgiving profile from both tee and fairway. It’s particularly well matched to mid-handicappers and better players who value tunability and a lower-spin, stable shaft without sacrificing playability.
Q: Can I change the shot shape with the R7 Quad Mini Driver?
A: Yes. Moving the four weights side-to-side creates draw or fade bias and forward/rearward placement alters spin and launch.
Q: Is the 13.5° loft suitable for fairway play?
A: Yes. The 13.5° loft works well from the deck and tee, offering a higher launch than a low-loft driver while remaining usable off fairways.
