TYR Blackops 140 EV Swim Goggles Clear — Low-Profile Racing Goggles with 140° Peripheral Vision

The TYR Blackops 140 EV are low-profile, non-mirrored racing goggles built for close-to-eye fit, wide 140° peripheral vision, and a secure silicone seal for competitive lap swimming and training.

Engineered for swimmers who want minimal drag and maximum awareness, these TYR Blackops 140 EV goggles combine a streamlined silhouette with adjustable fit features. The clear, non-mirrored lenses keep colors natural and provide anti-fog protection plus full UVA/UVB coverage. Made for both men and women, they’re intended for race-day performance, high-intensity practices, and regular pool laps where sightlines and stability matter.

How do these goggles reduce drag and stay secure during starts and turns?

The Blackops 140 EV uses a low-profile lens and frame that sit close to the eye to minimize water resistance. Durafit silicone gaskets create a soft, watertight seal that resists shifting during dives, flip-turns, and sprint efforts. Together these elements help maintain a locked-in feel without excessive pressure on the eye sockets.

• low-profile frame reduces frontal surface area
• durafit silicone gaskets for a comfortable, leak-resistant seal
• secure adjustable straps keep goggles in place through starts and turns

What vision advantages does the 140° peripheral view provide?

A 140° peripheral field expands lane awareness so swimmers can see competitors, lane lines, and walls with less head movement. This wider visual span supports better spatial judgement in close races and during pacing sets. The clear, non-mirrored lenses preserve natural color and contrast, useful in indoor pools and shaded outdoor venues.

• wide 140° field improves awareness of surrounding lanes
• non-mirrored lenses maintain true color and contrast indoors
• reduces the need to rotate the head for sighting and lane checks

How is the fit customized for different faces and bridge sizes?

Fit tailoring is achieved through adjustable straps plus four interchangeable nose bridges so you can fine-tune the distance between lenses. The combination of strap micro-adjustments and nose-piece options creates a repeatable, race-ready fit for varied face shapes. Swimmers can quickly switch bridges to find the ideal seal and minimize leak points.

• four nose-bridge sizes for customizable inter-lens spacing
• adjustable split strap for rapid tension changes
• repeatable fit supports consistent performance session after session

Are these goggles suitable for different lighting and pool conditions?

These are the non-mirrored clear-lens version of the Blackops 140 EV line, aimed at environments where accurate color perception matters—such as indoor training and early-morning outdoor swims. The lenses include an anti-fog coating to help retain clear vision through long sets and offer full UVA/UVB protection for eye safety during outdoor use. Mirror options exist in the same model family if glare reduction is a priority.

• clear, non-mirrored lenses for true color perception
• anti-fog coating helps maintain visibility during long sessions
• full uva/uvb protection for outdoor training

Who this is for: The TYR Blackops 140 EV (Clear) is aimed at competitive swimmers, triathletes, and serious lap swimmers who prioritize low drag, wide peripheral sight, and a customizable, secure fit. If you need goggles that hold steady through starts and sprint efforts while preserving natural vision indoors or in mixed-light conditions, these offer a performance-focused option. Choose mirrored variants in the Blackops line if you need extra glare control for bright outdoor racing.
