WILSON Evolution Indoor Basketball — Size 6 Intermediate, Microfiber Composite Grip for Control

The Wilson Evolution Indoor Game Basketball (Intermediate Size 6) is a high-grip, composite-leather indoor game ball built for control, consistent feel, and competitive play.

Designed for indoor courts, this intermediate-size (size 6) Wilson basketball combines a microfiber composite cover with advanced core engineering to give players a reliable touch and predictable performance during practices and games. Approved by NFHS and commonly used in high school competition, the Evolution balances tacky surface grip with a durable inner structure for long-lasting play.

What makes the cover different from other basketballs?

The Evolution uses Wilson’s exclusive microfiber composite leather rather than traditional rubber or basic composites. That material is embossed with deep pebbles and finished to feel softer to the fingertips while still resisting scuffs and wear typical of indoor gym floors.

• Microfiber composite leather for a tactile, broken-in feel
• Deep embossed pebbling for consistent hand contact
• All-composite surface improves grip without sticky rubber

How does the inner construction affect playability?

Wilson’s Cushion Core Technology combines low-density sponge rubber and durable butyl to create a responsive, controlled rebound and a solid handle. The core helps the ball hold its shape and air pressure while delivering a softer touch on catches and passes.

• Low-density sponge layer for a cushioned feel
• Butyl rubber backing for stable air retention
• Engineered for even bounce and consistent performance

Is this ball suited for official and school games?

Yes. The Wilson Evolution has NFHS approval and is widely adopted as a high-school game ball because it meets competitive standards for size, weight, and performance. Its intermediate size 6 is appropriate for many youth and female leagues that require this specification.

• NFHS-approved for high school play
• Size 6 intermediate fits designated league requirements
• Trusted by coaches for consistent game-to-game performance

How does the grip system improve handling during play?

Instead of traditional rubber channels, Wilson uses laid-in composite channels — sometimes called Aqua-Grip — to maintain a pebbled, uniform surface across the ball. That design gives players a secure hold during dribbles, passes, and contested catches, even in fast, physical play.

• Laid-in channels keep the surface texture uniform
• Enhances grip without adding sticky rubber patches
• Optimized for control on quick moves and shots

Who this is for: The Wilson Evolution Size 6 is aimed at serious youth and high-school players, coaches equipping teams, and recreational athletes who want near-game quality for indoor practice. If you need a durable, competition-ready indoor ball with improved grip and a soft, controlled feel, this model delivers dependable performance for training sessions and sanctioned games alike.
