Axiom Discs Neutron Hex Midrange Disc 170–175g — Neutron plastic, straight-to-slightly-understable control

Built for players who value control over raw distance, the Hex combines a comfortable 13 mm rim with a predictable flight profile. Weighing 170–175 grams and produced in Axiom’s bright, durable Neutron plastic, this midrange gives consistent performance across arm speeds and course conditions. PDGA-approved and color-varied, the Hex is ready for casual rounds, wooded approaches, and tournament play.

How does the Hex behave on hyzer, flat, and anhyzer releases?

On a hyzer release the Hex finishes with a gentle fade that helps it hold lines without flipping. From a flat release it flies remarkably straight for a midrange and shows slight understability at very high arm speeds. When thrown anhyzer, expect reliable turn that makes it easy to shape controlled S-curves.

• Hyzer: predictable late fade for holding lines.
• Flat: neutral-to-straight flight with minimal wobble.
• Anhyzer: noticeable turn for S-shaped shot shaping.

What distances and shot types is the Hex best for?

The Hex excels at controlled midrange work: accurate approaches, tunnel shots in the woods, and placement drives where precision beats power. Its glide keeps it aloft for longer carries, while the modest fade prevents rollaways, making it useful for upshots and controlled fairway placements.

• Approach shots requiring a soft finish and predictable landing.
• Fairway control drives where accuracy and line shaping matter most.
• Wooded or tight lines where the disc’s straight flight and glide are advantages.

What physical specs and material should I expect from Neutron Hex?

The Hex is a 13 mm class midrange with flight numbers Speed 5, Glide 5, Turn -1, Fade 1 and is offered in tournament weights 170–175g. Neutron plastic provides a vivid matte look, a comfortable grip, and solid durability similar to Proton blends while favoring more opaque, bright color options.

• Rim width: 13 mm class—comfortable for both placement and repeatable throws.
• Flight rating: 5 | 5 | -1 | 1—straight-stable control profile.
• Material: Neutron plastic—durable, bright, premium feel.
• Weight: 170–175 g and PDGA-approved for sanctioned play.

How should I select a Hex for my playing level and arm speed?

Players with moderate arm speed will find the Hex comfortably stable and easy to manipulate for shaping shots. High-speed throwers may notice slight understability from flat releases, which can be useful for distance-turn shots; beginners benefit from the forgiving glide and gentle fade for consistent results.

• Beginners: forgiving straight flight and excellent glide aid accuracy.
• Intermediate: ideal for honing shaped lines and controlled approaches.
• Advanced: useful for understable lines when thrown at high velocity.
