Crankbrothers Stamp 1 Large MTB Platform Pedals — Orange, Thin 13mm Profile & Replaceable Pins

Crankbrothers Stamp 1 Large is a thin, entry-level composite mountain bike platform pedal engineered for a stable shoe-to-pedal interface and reliable off-road traction.

The Stamp 1 Large blends a low-profile 13mm platform with a broad contact surface and replaceable hex traction pins to give riders confident footing without the weight or cost of premium metal pedals. Built around durable bearings and a sealed system, these pedals are tailored for riders who want predictable grip, easy cornering control, and fewer pedal strikes while keeping things affordable. The bright orange finish provides visibility on the trail and a pop of color on your bike.

How do these pedals improve foot stability on rough trails?

The Stamp 1 Large maximizes the shoe-to-pedal contact area so your foot sits more securely during technical moves and steep climbs. The combination of a wide composite platform and multiple traction pins reduces slippage and helps you transfer power with confidence.

• Large platform footprint for even pressure distribution
• Nine 10mm hex traction pins per side for bite and adjustability
• 13mm thin profile to lower center of gravity and improve control

Are these pedals durable enough for frequent trail use?

Designed as an entry-level option, the Stamp 1 uses a reinforced composite body that resists impacts and keeps weight down. A premium bearing and seal system protects internals from dust and moisture, extending service intervals compared with unsealed alternatives.

• Composite platform resists cracks and heavy knocks
• Quality bearings for smoother rotation and longer life
• Sealed axle area to limit contamination from mud and grit

What maintenance do these pedals require?

Maintenance is straightforward: check and tighten pins as needed, and periodically service the bearings where recommended. The pedal’s simple construction makes pin replacement and basic axle service uncomplicated for riders comfortable with routine bike upkeep.

• Inspect and replace worn traction pins to restore grip
• Grease or service bearings according to riding conditions and hours
• Wipe seals and body after muddy rides to prolong life

Which shoe types and riding styles suit the Stamp 1 Large?

The platform is optimized for flat-soled MTB shoes and casual trail footwear, offering a supportive contact patch for gravity, enduro, and trail riding. Its low profile reduces the chance of pedal strikes on tight lines while still giving enough traction for aggressive cornering and pump-track maneuvers.

• Best with flat MTB shoes or grippy trail trainers
• Suitable for trail, all-mountain, and casual enduro sessions
• Large size provides extra support for bigger-footed riders

Who is this for: The Crankbrothers Stamp 1 Large in orange is aimed at riders seeking an affordable, reliable platform pedal that prioritizes stability and simplicity. It’s a strong match for riders stepping up from basic pedals, mountain bikers who prefer flat pedals for technical terrain, and those who want a low-profile platform with replaceable pins and robust internals without the expense of high-end metal models.
