GRAYL GeoPress Replacement Filter & Purifier Cartridge — Black, 350-cycle viral & chemical protection

The GRAYL GeoPress Replacement Filter & Purifier Cartridge (black) is a direct-swap purifier insert that removes viruses, bacteria, protozoa, chemicals, heavy metals and microplastics while restoring fresh taste.

When you need reliable water purification from uncertain sources, this replacement cartridge restores OnePress protection in GRAYL GeoPress bottles. It combines mechanical filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and proven pathogen removal to make surface water, tap water and treated sources safer to drink. The cartridge installs quickly and is sized for repeated field use, offering certified performance and a long unused shelf life.

How does this cartridge make water safer when I’m traveling or hiking?

The cartridge uses multiple barrier technologies to reduce microbes and chemical contaminants in a single press. A fine mechanical filter and media remove particulates and microplastics while an internal purifier stage targets bacteria, protozoa and viruses. Activated carbon adsorbs tastes, odors and many organic chemicals, improving flavor and usability.

• Multi-stage purification removes viruses, bacteria and protozoan cysts
• Activated carbon reduces chemicals, pesticides and unpleasant tastes
• Mechanical filtration captures microplastics and particulates

How long will one cartridge last and how much water can it treat?

Each cartridge is rated for about 350 press cycles, roughly equal to 65 gallons (≈250 liters) of treated water under normal conditions. Actual lifespan depends on water quality and sediment load; very turbid sources will shorten service life. Unused cartridges can be stored for a long time when kept dry and sealed.

• Rated for 350 cycles, approximately 65 gal / 250 L total capacity
• Storage shelf life of up to 10 years for unopened cartridges
• Replacement advised when flow decreases or taste/odor returns

Is the GeoPress replacement cartridge certified and which contaminants does it address?

This cartridge has been independently tested to meet or exceed protocols equivalent to NSF standards 42 and 53 for chemical and particulate reduction and pathogen performance in its class. It targets a broad range of waterborne pathogens and adsorbable chemicals, improving safety and palatability. Testing verifies the cartridge’s ability to reduce common microbiological and chemical risks encountered in travel and uncertain water supplies.

• Independently laboratory tested to meet/exceed NSF-style 42 and 53 protocols
• Removes viruses, bacteria and protozoan cysts (examples: norovirus, rotavirus, E. coli, Giardia, Cryptosporidium)
• Activated carbon reduces many chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, tastes and odors

How do I install and maintain the replacement cartridge?

Installation is tool-free and designed to swap into an existing GRAYL GeoPress bottle quickly: remove the spent cartridge, insert the new purifier and reseal according to bottle instructions. Rinse clear water through the system before first use and monitor for reduced flow as a signal to replace. Dispose of used cartridges according to local regulations or recycling guidance when available.

• Tool-free swap into GRAYL GeoPress purifier bottle
• Flush with clean water before drinking after installation
• Replace when flow slows or taste/odor returns

Who is this for: Adventurers, travelers, commuters and anyone who owns a GRAYL GeoPress bottle and needs dependable one-press purification. It’s suited for day-hikers, international travelers, emergency kits and workplace use where water sources are uncertain. Choose this black replacement cartridge to restore certified filtration performance, neutralize off-flavors and extend the life of your GeoPress purifier.
