NXT NXTRND B-Plate Pro Football Back Plate — Matte Black Adult, Low-Profile Dual-Shell Protection

This back plate pairs a streamlined silhouette with dual-shell engineering and NXT-Foam padding to shield the lower spine and tailbone without weighing players down. Built to mount to most major shoulder-pad systems, the Nxtrnd B-Plate Pro focuses on coverage where it matters while preserving mobility and airflow during practices and games.

How does this back plate improve protection compared to standard flat plates?

The Nxtrnd B-Plate Pro uses a two-piece shell with energy-absorbing foam that spreads impact forces across the surface rather than concentrating them at a single point. Its contoured shape follows the lower back, reducing the chance of direct jarring to the spine and tailbone.

• Dual-shell construction for staged energy dissipation
• NXT-Foam core to absorb and reduce peak impact
• Curved design that reduces direct impact points

Will it restrict movement or add bulk when attached to shoulder pads?

The B-Plate Pro was engineered with a shorter, low-profile form that minimizes protrusion behind the shoulders so players maintain a full range of motion. Lightweight materials and venting between the shells also reduce heat buildup and perceived weight during play.

• Slim silhouette for better shoulder and torso rotation
• Air channels between shells for cooler performance
• Reduced thickness so pads sit closer to the body

Which sizes and pad systems are compatible with this back plate?

Nxtrnd supplies the B-Plate Pro in Adult and Youth sizes so it can match player height and build. The mounting hardware and universal shape are designed to attach to most major shoulder pad brands and models for quick installation.

• Adult fits athletes over 5'4" and 100 lbs
• Youth available for smaller players and junior pads
• Complete hardware included for straightforward mounting

How easy is installation and maintenance for teams and individuals?

Each package contains the back plate plus a full set of installation hardware so trainers and athletes can mount it without sourcing extras. The outer shells wipe clean and the foam core is protected inside the assembly, simplifying upkeep between sessions.

• All necessary bolts, straps, and fittings included
• Durable shell that resists scuffs and holds finish
• Quick wipe-clean exterior; foam stays enclosed from moisture

Who is this for? The Nxtrnd B-Plate Pro suits competitive high school, college, and adult recreational players who want improved lower-back and tailbone protection without sacrificing speed and movement. Coaches and equipment managers will appreciate the universal fit and included hardware, while youth teams benefit from the appropriately sized option that brings professional-style protection to younger athletes.
