RaceFace Atlas 22 Platform Pedals — Black Aluminium, Wide Concave Body, Replaceable Pins

RaceFace Atlas 22 is a lightweight, wide aluminum platform pedal built for confidence, grip, and durable trail performance.

Designed for gravity and aggressive trail riding, the Atlas 22 platform blends a low-profile concave layout with long adjustable pins for secure shoe contact and predictable traction when you need it most. At under 390 g per pair, these pedals balance strength and weight-saving so you can maintain control without excess bulk. They ship with replacement pins and washers so your setup stays serviceable through many rides.

How do these pedals improve foothold and control on rough trails?

The Atlas 22 uses a wide, thin, and concave aluminum body to increase contact area and cradle the shoe sole, reducing slippage during hard cornering or big hits. Longer, removable pins bite into soles for mechanical grip, and the 12 mm thick casing adds structural stiffness to prevent flex under load.

• Platform dimensions: 110 mm x 108 mm for a broad contact surface
• Concave profile to stabilize the foot during dynamic maneuvers
• Long adjustable/removable pins for custom grip and wear replacement
• 12 mm thick casing for durable, stiff support

Are these pedals light enough without sacrificing durability?

Yes—RaceFace engineered a lightweight aluminum construction that keeps the pair under 390 g while maintaining a robust platform able to withstand repeated impacts. The material choice and design focus on reducing rotating weight, which helps responsiveness without compromising long-term toughness.

• Material: machined aluminum body for strength-to-weight efficiency
• Pair weight: less than 13.4 oz (390 g)
• Reinforced casing thickness to resist deformation
• Replaceable pins and included washers extend service life

What maintenance and replacement parts come with the pedals?

Atlas 22 pedals include spare hardware so you can refresh grip pins quickly on-trail or at home. The removable pins simplify service and let you tune traction to shoe type or terrain, while the supplied washers help secure pins against loosening.

• Included in box: 2 pedals, 4 replacement pins, 36 pin washers
• Pins are removable for easy replacement or grip tuning
• Washers prevent pin loosening and distribute load evenly
• Simple bolt-in pin design for field or shop maintenance

How does the pedal shape influence comfort on long rides?

The combination of a wide platform and a subtle concave shape spreads pressure across the sole and helps the foot settle naturally, reducing hot spots and improving stability on extended runs. The low-profile platform minimizes pedal-caught impacts and helps keep your center of gravity close to the crank for balanced handling.

• Wide platform reduces pressure points and improves comfort
• Concave surface centers the foot and aids micro-adjustments while riding
• Thin profile lowers pedal-to-ground clearance for better bike handling
• Suitable for aggressive climbing and fast descents where contact consistency matters

Who is this for? Riders looking for a durable, performance-focused flat pedal that balances weight and traction will appreciate the RaceFace Atlas 22. It suits gravity-oriented trail riders, enduro racers using flats, and any cyclist who wants a roomy, serviceable platform with the option to tailor grip via replaceable pins. If you prioritize a broad contact area, predictable shoe hold, and easy maintenance, the Atlas 22 is built to support those needs on technical terrain.
