RaceFace Chester Large Composite Flat Pedals — Black, 115 x 110mm Platform & Replaceable Pins

The Race Face Chester Large pedal is a lightweight, durable composite flat pedal with a 115 x 110mm platform and multiple replaceable pins for confident grip and control.

Built for riders who want reliable flat pedals without the weight or price of full-metal platforms, the Chester Large pairs a nylon composite body with a chromoly spindle and serviceable internals. Its generous platform size and configurable pins provide stability for bigger shoes, while sealed bearings and a lifetime crash warranty make these pedals an appealing choice for everyday trail use and commuter miles alike.

How does the Chester Large pedal improve stability on the bike?

The oversized 115 x 110mm platform increases contact area between your shoe and the pedal, which reduces foot movement and helps you stay planted during rough terrain or technical sections. The 16mm platform height balances comfort with ground clearance for better control.

• Large 115 x 110mm contact area for more support
• Low-profile 16mm height for a stable feel and pedal clearance
• Eight replaceable pins per side plus two molded plastic pins for consistent traction

Are these pedals durable enough for trail riding?

Yes — the Chester Large mixes a resilient nylon composite body with a chromoly steel spindle to handle impacts and repetitive loads. Internals are fully serviceable and the sealed bearings resist contamination, extending service intervals and pedal life.

• Chromoly spindle for strength and stiffness
• Serviceable internals and sealed bearings for longevity
• Lifetime warranty that covers crashes for added confidence

How do the pin layout and traction features work under different conditions?

The pedal uses a combination of replaceable metal pins and co-molded plastic pins to bite into the sole without over-snagging. You can tune traction by swapping or removing pins to suit sticky-soled shoes, slippery conditions, or personal preference.

• Nine adjustable pins per side for customizable grip
• Two molded plastic pins reduce snagging while still adding bite
• Replaceable pins make maintenance and tuning simple on the trail or at home

What maintenance should I expect with these pedals?

Maintenance is straightforward: check and tighten pins, service the sealed bearings and spindle as needed, and swap out worn pins. Because the pedal is designed for serviceability, simple tools let you keep them spinning smoothly season after season.

• Inspect and tighten pins regularly to preserve grip
• Re-grease or replace bearings when you detect play or roughness
• Chromoly spindle can be tightened or replaced if damaged

Who is this for? The Race Face Chester Large pedals suit riders after a cost-conscious, reliable flat platform — from commuters and bikepackers to gravity-friendly trail riders who prefer softer impacts and a forgiving composite body. They are especially well suited to cyclists with larger shoe sizes who want extra platform area, and to anyone who values easy maintenance, a stable pedal feel, and a lifetime crash warranty.
