Wahoo Fitness SPEEDPLAY Easy Tension Cleats — road cycling cleats, low-entry force & three-axis adjustability

Wahoo SPEEDPLAY Easy Tension Cleats are road cycling cleats with a simplified spring action that makes clipping in and out faster and more confident while keeping SPEEDPLAY’s multi-axis adjustability.

These cleats bring the hallmark fit options of the SPEEDPLAY pedal system—independent fore-aft, lateral, and rotational (float) tuning—into a shoe interface that’s easier to engage and release. Designed for riders who want the biomechanical benefits of SPEEDPLAY without the higher entry force some athletes find challenging, the Easy Tension model blends convenience, walkability, and precise adjustment options.

How do Easy Tension Cleats make starting and stopping simpler?

The Easy Tension mechanism reduces the entry force required to snap into the pedal, so clipping in feels smoother and more predictable, especially at stops or during repeated dismounts. Release remains secure yet accessible, lowering hesitation for riders new to SPEEDPLAY or those who prefer quicker footwork.

• Simplified spring design for lower engagement force
• Consistent entry feel across left and right cleats
• Confidence at traffic lights and technical stops

What adjustability does this cleat give me for fit and performance?

Like other SPEEDPLAY components, the Easy Tension cleat permits independent adjustments in three axes so you can fine-tune foot placement and float to match your biomechanics. That flexibility helps optimize comfort and pedaling efficiency without changing pedal choice.

• Fore-aft slide for alignment with knee tracking
• Lateral tweaks to center your foot over the crank
• Rotational float adjustment for natural foot motion

Will these cleats be comfortable to walk in?

The Easy Tension cleat profile improves walkability compared with many traditional road cleats by balancing a lower-profile shape with a user-friendly engagement surface. You’ll still want to be cautious on very slick surfaces, but casual walking and short off-bike moments are easier than with higher-profile race-only cleats.

• Reduced protrusion for easier steps off the bike
• Durable contact points for frequent walking
• Stable platform for short transitions or bike handling

What riders benefit most from Easy Tension cleats?

These cleats suit a wide range of cyclists: commuters, all-road riders, fitness cyclists and racers who prefer a gentler engagement feel. They’re also a good choice for riders switching from other pedal brands who want SPEEDPLAY adjustability with a more approachable clip-in action.

• Commuters and urban cyclists needing frequent stops
• Fit-conscious riders seeking three-axis adjustment
• New SPEEDPLAY users or those who prefer lower entry force

Who is this for? The Wahoo SPEEDPLAY Easy Tension Cleat is made for riders who want SPEEDPLAY’s industry-leading adjustability without the firmer entry force of race-oriented cleats. If you value fine-tuned foot placement, predictable clip-in/out behavior, and improved walkability for everyday cycling, these cleats provide a practical, performance-oriented solution while retaining the core benefits of the SPEEDPLAY system.
