Under Armour youth padded compression shirt Gameday Pro 5-Pad Top — HeatGear, waterproof McDavid HEX protection

Under Armour Gameday Pro 5-Pad Top is a youth compression base layer with integrated HEX protective pads that shield the ribs, shoulders, and spine without adding bulk.

Designed for young football players who need breathable support and impact-resistant coverage, this padded compression shirt combines Under Armour fit with McDavid HEX padding technology. It behaves like a snug base layer while giving targeted protection where collisions and tackles most often occur. The heat-managing fabric, lightweight waterproof padding, and four-way stretch mesh make it useful under shoulder pads and jerseys during practices and games.

How does this padded compression shirt protect without feeling bulky?

The Gameday Pro uses McDavid HEX pads that are thin, segmented, and welded to the fabric so they conform to body movement. Because the padding is sew-free and low-profile, it disperses impact while maintaining a close compression fit.

• Welded HEX padding across ribs, spine, and shoulders for strategic coverage
• Low-profile segments bend and flex with the body
• Waterproof material keeps pads lightweight in wet conditions

Will this shirt stay comfortable during intense play?

Yes—HeatGear fabric combined with 4-way stretch mesh delivers a cooling feel and unrestricted motion. The compression fit supports muscle alignment while the mesh zones promote airflow in high-heat areas.

• HeatGear fabric wicks sweat and reduces cling
• 4-way stretch mesh allows natural range of motion
• Sewn-free pads reduce irritation and chafing during long sessions

Can this be worn under other protective gear and jerseys?

The slim, athletic profile was built to layer beneath shoulder pads and game jerseys without compromising fit. Because the padding is engineered to sit close to the body, it slips into typical football setups as a base layer for added protection.

• Compression fit keeps the shirt snug under pads and jerseys
• Low-bulk padding integrates with standard equipment setups
• Flat, welded construction prevents bunching under shoulder gear

How durable and easy to care for is this youth padded top?

Materials are chosen for frequent use: the HEX padding resists wear and repels moisture, while the HeatGear fabric stands up to repeated washes. Follow garment care instructions to preserve fabric stretch and padding performance over time.

• McDavid HEX pads are ultra-durable and waterproof
• HeatGear fabric resists stretching out with proper care
• Simple machine-wash routine maintains fit and function

Who is this for: The Under Armour Gameday Pro 5-Pad Top is aimed at youth football players and parents seeking a breathable, low-profile padded compression base layer. It fits athletes who want targeted protection across ribs, shoulders, and spine while keeping mobility and comfort a priority—ideal for practices, scrimmages, and game-day layering under pads and jerseys.
